I know this is an AI story but this is a real thing that happens so many times I have my best friend she was convinced by her husband to be a stay-at-home mom for 10 years while he launched his career and the minute he got the promotion 15 years later he left her for his secretary. meanwhile she hadn't earn money in 15 years had no life skills and gave up her blooming career as a nurse practitioner to help support him.
