@thejoyofhomeed: 🧠 One of the most surprising comments I received recently was from someone who genuinely thought the penis contained a bone. It doesn’t, so I had to share this to help dispel any myths and increase understanding and knowledge of the male reproductive system for those who need it. The human penis is made primarily of erectile tissue, blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. Interestingly, many mammals do have a penile bone called a baculum. However, humans don’t, so in that regard you can’t break your penis in the way someone can break their leg, so no need to worry ladies and gents 😬🫣 That’s why exhibits like this at Body Worlds Amsterdam are so fascinating and informative. They allow us to question our assumptions and see the human body exactly as it is rather than how we imagine it to be. 📍Have you ever seen the male reproductive system displayed like this before?
