There’s 40 minutes where it falls out almost entirely after the half way point. I kept asking “where are the aliens?”. The lay off took far too long and it felt it ended too soon.

So much of the film is terrible, the script, every problem resolved so simply. Emily blunt tries her best but it's just so hopeless. I say this as someone whose favourite film is Jaws

Really great take. I think they had something like arrival in mind but felt like they wanted to dial down the tone into a family blockbuster. it never really found what it wanted to be and ultimately contradicted itself with so many plot holes

Arrival is a fantastic sci-fi movie grounded in reality. This is a wannabe blockbuster that starts with a good premise and falls apart along the way with plot holes and cartoonish scenes that make no sense. I was a bit disappointed

Love this take, none of us want to bash Spielberg, we love him. His corpus is goat level, but this script got lost in the sauce. We wanted Andor and he gave us Ahsoka.
