I think his ability to still believe in what he does despite his upbringing is very inspiring. Fought until the last second and didn’t give up. And in the end, he still lives on through the sprout that gave him courage. Simon deserved so much better.

I also like that he's not out right antagonist twords Eden either. He never even fully denounces himself from it which is very realistic. Someone who has been raised in a religious cult all their lives and then is forcefully taken out of it via prison would have difficulty fully separating themselves because realistically that's his home. Even if he was always skeptical of Eden's beliefs that's all he's ever known and from his perspective it's not as if he got put into a better situation once he's out of it.

I have religious trauma from being manipulated and lied too. Discouraged of the lgbt and being told what is “wrong” and “right”. To being lied too about a meeting and it was an interrogation. So I kin him deeply I see Simon and I hear him. 💜😔 My filament was being gay
