My car is due an oil change but I need the moral support of another baddie. If anyone’s in Aberdeen and needs to change their oil too, let’s do it together!!!

This is awesome. But I’m 55 so I’m gonna take my car to the line shop that employs women in my town. It’s the next best thing right?

My only concern is that you measured the oil while on the ramp.
I would check again after the first drive.
otherwise super awesome that you are doing this.

Hi Zoe! I love your videos and was wondering if you could do one about putting air in your tyres/knowing when tyres need air etc. I know it sounds ridiculously simple but I literally know that little about cars 🙃

I find it helpful to keep a foot of hollow pipe with my tools. When something won't undo, slip it over the wrench handle for a longer lever. Makes undoing and tightening stuff way easier.

I love this idea. I really do, but there are so many steps and tips not added that would definitely help the targeted audience. Most importantly: FIRST STEP: find your VIN (vehicle ID #) & take that to your local Repco/Supercheap etc. and ask for the correct oil & filter - not every oil matches every engine. Best of luck to all you lovely Queens. YOU CAN NAIL THIS … & continued practice does mean less mess 😉

Female here, been doing my own services for 20+ years. This is a great video, keep up the good work. On a side note, it’s worth investing in a garage crawler, or do what I did and make one yourself out of scrap wood and a couple of casters from Bunnings. Works a treat and makes it much easier to work under the car.

luckily I have a 4wd so I don't need to prop mine up on ramps. I just shimmy my chunky self under there. havent done and oil filter and oil change yet but had to drop some oil out of the sump because the mechanic who did my service, put way too much oil in.
and after watching your video about the code reader, I did infact go and buy myself a code reader and big brand new set of tools and regained my love of mechanics.

a mechanic taught me an extra step. let cool down the engine and check the oil level again. after you switch it on the new oil goes everywhere it needs to go, so the actual level might be lower than just refilled
