That was the practice then… but experience has taught us better. About 3 years ago, we started seeing buildings that had stood for over 50 years suddenly developing damp issues for the first time. Nothing was wrong with the structure—the under ground water table had changed. UNDERGROUND WATER LEVELS CAN CHANGE OVER TIME. As builders and professionals, we must not only rely on past knowledge—we must adapt.
