I have a hiadyle hernia and was on Protonix twice a day for over 10 years. My gastroenterologist told me to not worry about it!? I lost a large amount of weight and no longer need it unless I eat before I go to bed or eat chocolate or spaghetti sauce.

15+ years ago an MD put me on Prilosec. I randomly started getting muscle cramps and at one point I had chest pain so bad I thought I was having a heart attack. I was in my early 30s and healthy. I did some digging online and found/came to the conclusion my magnesium was being depleted. I stopped immediately. Later they came out with a Prilosec w/ magnesium 😆. Sheesh

You're assuming 24/7 use of PPI - some ppl only use PPI for 1/2 the day. And have severe Barrett's Esophagus.

I've been on it for 17 years. been off it 2 years and have terrible stomach problems. I dont trust any doctors anymore coz they all the same. I'm self medicating now with mastic gum, berberine , Allisin, oregano oil and raw biotics

People need to figure out the root of their acid reflux. For me it was Red Bulls.. I had grown addicted to them and my stomach was horrible! I stopped drinking them and things got back to normal over time. That was 25 years ago and I haven’t had issues since 🤔

what if you are on cox2 inhibitor nsaids that affect the prostaglandins and mucosal membrane as well? especially if someone’s taking nsaids for autoimmune such as rheumatoid arthritis. it seems like vicious cycle.. 🥺
