shadow rant :
YouTube sorts are better than TikTok's comments because they can't use stickers, which increases their word power. If TikTok doesn't solve these bots, YouTube will become better. And because there's a shortage of jokes there, scientific information will start appearing as jokes.

tiktok: jokes and shit posts

Someone finally addressed the fact that TikTok barely uses proper punctuation. Man, the way people barely use periods, exclamation marks, question marks, and in rare cases, commas, makes me feel like a bot for using them even when those who don't are mostly, in fact, bots too.

TikTok and YouTube Shorts seem to be moving in opposite directions when it comes to comments. TikTok used to feel like a place where people added new jokes, ideas, and reactions, but as the platform grew, many comment sections became dominated by the same recycled memes and phrases repeated over and over. Some people see that as a decline in originality. Meanwhile, YouTube Shorts started as a weaker short-form platform, but it gradually inherited YouTube's discussion culture. More users add context, explanations, debates, and personal experiences instead of only repeating trends. That's why some people say TikTok is "devolving" while YouTube Shorts is "evolving"—not because one app is objectively better, but because one is increasingly associated with repetitive meme comments while the other is increasingly associated with actual discussion.

At this point we are actually devolving, if we look at the today’s TikTok comment section you most likely see AI content or just stupid not informative memes. And as you know this is not good since if we don’t get information and forget the information that we already knew because of the memes since they blur our minds because they take the part of our brain that makes us remember things. That’s why we are devolving and it’s better for us all to just forget about social media.
