Just accepted into my ADN program and start in August. Still very expensive (a little over 50k) for a 16-20 month program but it’s better than the numbers I’ve heard from people who pursued a BSN

Have my adn as a new grad 🤷🏼♀️offered a job where I was an extern at. They’re paying for my bachelors and there’s literally no pay difference at my current hospital

I worked 43 years as an ADN RN. When you take NCLEX you take the exact same test. Absolutely no difference. When you receive your license it says, Registered Nurse. Frankly every single job I applied for I was offered. BSN does not make you a better nurse. This debate has been going on for all the years I worked as a nurse. The nurses who raised me were three year diploma prepared nurses, including my mother, they were the absolute best teachers. Let’s face it what you learn in nursing school does not prepare for what you face. If I am the patient in that bed I want the best nurse possible! I could care less if they have ADN or BSN. I want a nurse with common sense and critical thinking skills. I’m retired now and see the debate continues.

graduating in 3 months. Just started working as a pct and regretting my career already. this is such hard work. as a pct not a lot of critical thinking but a lot of hard work

The only nurses ive met who believed vaccine conspiracy were ADN. I do think the BSN helps you understand how to read a paper and recognize good evidence to evaluate it for practice. Sometimes im shocked what i hear ADNs believing

BSN from ASN is just writing papers. You learn way more from on floor experience. But, I spent a ton of money to relearn my APA abilities. 😬

Cincinnati, you can start out as an ADN, but you have to get your BSN because all the hospitals in the area are magnet, hospitals. no extra pay. Just possibility for middle management, or if you're going on to advanced practice.

I live in NY and they mandate RNs with ASN to go back for BSN with in 10 years if you graduated after 2020 …. we all know it’s ridiculous and not necessary 🙄

Went to a adn program. Paid for it out of pocket like 6000 for the whole degree. Then had my employer pay for my Bsn.

Not to sound harsh, but where I work there is a mix of ASN and BSN’s, including charge nurses. Same jobs, same pay, except some of the BSN nurses think they’re better than the ASN nurses.

I’m not a nurse but a teacher and I only get $25 more on my paychecks for having a masters 😏🤪 so not worth it
