"You have one more year to go. Work for Rivers people. The people who stood behind you expected more. Governance must return to the center of leadership," he stated. The protest also highlighted concerns over economic hardship, governance and democratic accountability across the country, with participants calling for reforms and improved service delivery from elected officials.
