These little skids are beasts. Replace the tracks on them asap, all fluids, and reinforce the tilt cylinder mount. I’ve lifted 950 lbs with this. It has 200 lbs of counterweights on the back. 5k definitely beats 40k, especially when it does most everything the same. I carried and spread 21 yards (almost 50k pounds) of river rock today on a project without any issues.

I have a SAM-1950z. The thing is a beast with a 50 hp Yanmar. Can easily lift and carry 2500 pounds. High flow hydraulics can run attachments up to 21 GPM. Got it for $30k. I’ve only got 20 hours but so far it’s amazing

Buy the Chinese. 6k new. I use it every day. Had a couple issues but overall so much cheaper and performs great

40k?! You must be looking at very basic machines because a decent DW or bobcat mini-skid where I live with bucket and forks is more like 60-70 thousand.

Chinese ones just need to be completely ripped apart and rebuilt/upgraded before the first use. So they seem like a good deal but add $1-2k on top of list price for the necessary mods.

Mine was 45,000 and bobcat charges me a minimum of $500 per service for that one machine. Costs me $600 for a bolt that came out. Guess what nothing is ever covered under warranties
