5 Extra things (Editorial notes AKA more fuckin yappin): 1. The "Arnold" split (Chest/Back, Shoulders/Arms, Legs), but it's just as viable a set up as PPL for a 6-day or 5-day hybrid variant. 2. The popular variation of FBEOD as a template (mostly because most novice/early inter lifters don't need that complexity), but it is a great set up as an asynchronous split (ran it myself for many months with tons of enjoyment), or Anterior/Posterior for the similar reason, but this is essentially touched on briefly and more indirectly via the fact that everything can be customized ad infinitum. 3. With several days a week, you prioritize muscle groups with BOTH exercise order AND session order. The order of each split can be modified however you want in accordance with that. For example: Push/Pull/Legs can be...Legs/Pull/Push (prioritizing legs more after the rest days). Upper/Lower can be Lower/Upper. Again, this falls into the "customize however the fuck you want" section, but on revision I think it's worth directly pointing this out. 4. Abs were not really mentioned among major muscle groups here, but that's because abs can be "tacked on" to any split in basically the same way...1-2 movements, 1-2x a week for a couple sets to failure and you're all set for those. They should not have bearing on the split structure itself otherwise. 5. Shoulders and arm days, chest & back days or any other sort of antagonist or peripheral paired muscle group days can be great. I just felt it was out of the scope of this video, and stuck mostly to by far the most common and important things most lifters that are intermediate or earlier need to know to get dialed on their knowledge about this. Over time, you will start to learn what set ups you like and respond to, what muscle groups do well with what movements and how it all interconnects and this is where you can start to build your own training splits with actual effectiveness rather than useless (or even detrimental) complexity. Give it time, you will get to that point. But you'll typically get there faster by running through the more effective generic split set ups for long enough first and focusing on quality of training + progression through them. 40 mins of yapping and I didn't mention these things (and probs some other stuff) but that's what happens when you try to explain depth on a topic that involves various other moving parts in it like training splits...and you get me in an extra yappy mood. Anyways, cheers. Level up your physique faster for free by clicking the link in my bio📲🚀
