So here’s what actually happened. I’m in the jacuzzi at sunrise… and out of nowhere, I get stung right in the lip by a bee. First reaction was “oh shit”… then “this actually really hurts.” Pulled the stinger out and instantly knew… this is gonna swell. I had a full shoot that day, so I just pushed through and kept going. Next morning… I wake up and this thing is HUGE. Not normal swelling. I’m talking full meme. Looked ridiculous. Felt like my lip was about to explode. Went to the hospital. Doctor was calm, no panic, basically treated it like it was nothing. Gave me an antihistamine injection (big needle in the arm) and tablets to take home. Thought I was good. Went out that night… woke up the next morning… Even bigger. Back to square one. But let me say this. The hospitals out here are next level. From the speed, to the care, to how calm everything felt… it just worked. For context, this was same-day treatment. Total cost: 2,300 THB ($65 USD) That included: • Doctor consultation • Antihistamine injection • Medication to take home • Nurse service (for the injection) • Medical supplies (syringe, needles, gauze) At a top hospital in the US, this would likely run me around $1,800+ for the same level of care. And then there was the part that really stuck with me. The locals. We don’t even speak the same language… and people are just stopping to help. No panic, no weird reactions… just “how do I help you?” That’s the part you don’t see. Not just how a place looks… But how it feels when something actually goes wrong. Took about 3 days before it really started going down. It’s been a few days now… and I’m almost back to normal. Appreciate all the messages and advice. And honestly… this is exactly why we’re starting this next chapter. We’re traveling the world to answer one question: Could I actually settle down & live there Healthcare. Safety. Cost of living. Community. Showing the highs… and the lows. What matters most to you when it comes to choosing where to live? What else would you like to see that normally doesn’t make it on social media?@jubrilpassportheavy
