She consistently takes advantage of yukino for her own benefit, for reference when hachiman tells yui that she doesnt have to force herself to be nice to him befause he saved her dog, she also starts avoiding yukino, why? because she was just an excuse to get closer to hachiman, using her as a medium allowed them to build up a friendship; and when hachiman made that declaration there was no use for yukinoshita anymore. Even when yui makes her request, she uses their friendship to force yukinoshita to give up asking her to keep things the same they are right now but hachiman steps in. There’s more examples I don’t really have off of the top of my head but I do remember she would try to block yukino in different ways, like during the aquarium date (which honestly I perceived as her bringing along yukino so hachiman wouldn’t be able to say no like he initially would) when hachiman asks yukinoshita about her problems, yui uses that to try to dispel hachiman’s request as an attempt to prevent them from getting closer. The novel really makes yui’s subtle manipulation much more apparent than the anime. She also even pressured hachiman into a “date”, when she ate that honey bread with him during the festival, he offered her money so he wouldn’t feel indebted yet she kept declining his offer forcing him to buy for her next time
