Righto legends, here’s a bit of a yarn and a recap of the last six months! It’s pretty wild looking back at how far we’ve come. From rearing wombats in a little shed a couple of years ago, to a purpose-built wildlife facility, bigger enclosures, new projects and continually learning how we can give these animals better care. There’s been plenty of challenges, amazing outcomes and some heartbreaking ones too. But every animal teaches us something. A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who’s helped along the way. From the everyday Aussie battler and local businesses to some big companies, plus my local and social communities around the world. Without you legends watching, sharing, helping and supporting what we do, none of this would be possible. The next 6–12 months are looking bloody exciting, and the long-term dream is even bigger. I’d love to secure a decent chunk of local land that can be protected for wildlife and become a safe release area, not just for animals from our shelter, but to help other wildlife shelters too. One of the big challenges in our space, particularly for smaller shelters or carers living in town, is finding suitable places where rehabilitated wildlife can be safely released back into large areas of appropriate habitat. Better facilities, more education, more people involved and hopefully a protected place that can help wildlife and carers throughout our local community for years to come. I’m also trying to keep Ashlee involved and show her that the more effort you put into something worthwhile, the more you can get back from it. Now I just need to figure out how to clone myself. 😂 Onya legends! ❤️ What have you enjoyed watching most, and what would you love to see us achieve next? #WildlifeRescue #AustralianWildlife #WildlifeRehabilitation #Gippsland #OnyaLegends
