@rescue.ranch0: We received a plea that stopped us cold. Firefighters found Sasha, a 6-pound, emaciated senior dog, lying on the side of the highway-too weak to move, too tired to cry. He didn’t run when help came. He just looked up, as if he had already given up. At the vet, they discovered severe malnutrition and dehydration from long-term neglect. An IV was placed. For the first time in a long while, Sasha was warm and safe. Then reality hit. Vet bills: $530 Treatment has been paused until the bill is raised Sasha survived abandonment. He survived the highway.
