wait... for what purpose? can't you just delivered it directly to your house or does taobao doesn't do international shipping? It's much more inconvenient to carry all that stuff with you on your flight

Cheaper than buying at the shops or market..save more time..much cheaper..if the hotels allowed n have this services then it's ok to do so but there should be a limit per room..

Chinese here, tourists can fill in the nearest Cainiao Station 菜鸟驿站 as your delivery address. It is a dedicated location for parcel pickup and drop-off, and picking up packages there is completely FREE. Such stations can be found in nearly every residential community across China. We locals also collect our deliveries from Cainiao Stations, except for items explicitly marked for door-to-door delivery. Simply provide the last four digits of your phone number to the on-site staff, and you can claim all your parcels. This method works far better than listing your hotel as the shipping address. If u don’t know the address of the nearest Cainiao Station, just ask the staff of the hotel, they will give u

They actually encourage tourists to shop from their online stores since it helps boost the economy. I think hotels should adapt by offering paid storage lockers. it could be another source of income. They could also set reasonable limits, like a maximum of 30 parcels per guest or restrictions based on parcel size and weight. hotels could even assign dedicated staff whose main responsibility is receiving, organizing, and managing parcels for guests. That way, the process stays efficient while creating another service that guests can pay for.

I'm Malaysian and I was thinking it wasn't polite to do this but is it allowed? I read some comments that said it was encouraged for guest to tell front desk to bring to room. so it's no problem??

For all tourists to China, if you have more than 2 package arrived, just have the front desk put them into your room. Some hotel will also unbox them if you ask.

1200? The math doesn't add up. A tour group averages 20 to 40 ppl depending on how large the group is. Even if it's max 40 ppl...it means each person has to order 30 things online.

For those who is no idea. Some products selling in different prices when it shipping to China or outside of China. Some products are not available to sell outside of China. And also, China logistics are way faster than many countries.

I hope the staff gets paid enough to do that extra job 😭 and the hotel should charge their customers for "storage space" of those parcels

Wah, that’s a bit too much leh… hotel staff are not obligated to do all these sorting for them. They should have come to the lobby and sort out the parcels themselves!
