MissEducation :
I needed to hear this, thank you. I have been called “enigmatic”, “intimidating”, “mysterious”, “too independent” by men I’ve dated who were attracted to my natural self in the beginning. But I have watched myself become a damsel every time, believing that what I was taught in youth was true, that men might be attracted to a powerful woman, but they only stick around for submissive ones. So I attempt to emulate that, and it always fails. I always end up leaving when I start to not recognize myself anymore. “Babe can you open this bottle of water for me”, ‘whining’ when I don’t get my way, etc etc… That is not me at all, but I want to be loved. So I attempt what I was taught, again and again. And to any woman who has experienced this or similar, please, listen to this woman. She is not wrong. It does take practice. I am still in my 20’s, still learning that I can have the type of love I desire, while remaining my empowered self. I will no longer settle for being less of me to keep an unworthy partner. Practice. Thank you for posting.
