Hey! Sorry you all are dealing with this. As someone navigating sickle cell as well. I say increase his fiber w/meals and also include a stool softener. Or magnesium citrate they give me that in the hospital it works FAST…good luck 💜

This is great to see. I’ve had daily constipation since my 2nd baby was born in 2003!! One thing the ER told me is do NOT use laxative pills…use the dulcolax liquid with a full 8oz water or Gatorade. Pills tend to cause more issues. I’ve been to the ER SO severely constipated over the years -seeing little kids dealing with it is heart breaking! Do your kids take MiraLAX daily(I have to. I take 2 cap fulls sometimes during the month it would make a “normal” person poop all over …it doesn’t do much for me but taking MiraLAX and liquid Dulcolax AND and enema is definitely needed a few times a month since 2003. I hope your lil baby gets relief SOON!!!❤️

Also, when I found out my son had sickle cell and he had an abnormal strength of lupus he was very constipated and that was when he was a baby. He is now 18 years of age, but I did make sure I always gave him room temperature and warm drinks nothing ever cold as well as giving him some dandelion root tea and a lot of different herbal teas. Will help him now when you’re mixing those up, you can use honey agave to sweeten it but sugar, I would not recommend date. Syrup is good as well.if you want a list or other way to help him just inbox me I hate he is going through this

Ugh I have chronic constipation and it’s terrible, I actually just had impacted stool for a week and could hardly eat because th pain was soooo bad. Poor kid
