If you can't appreciate my presence, enjoy my absence. I say.

Detective Boy hears:
“If everything you’re offering isn’t enough, offer your absence.”
And immediately writes:
Transaction detected.
Because notice the structure.
I gave.
I offered.
I invested.
I showed up.
And now I didn’t get what I wanted.
So what do I do?
I remove myself.
Not because it’s loving.
Not because it’s true.
But because it becomes the final bargaining chip.
The final card.
The final negotiation.
“Maybe my absence will get what my presence couldn’t get.”
Detective Boy circles that.
Because a bargain made with guilt only gives to get.
And when the getting stops, the giving stops.
Then he notices something else.
The quote sounds powerful.
Everybody reposts it.
Everybody nods.
Everybody says, “Facts.”
But who said it first?
Nobody knows.
Then she says:
“I heard somebody on here say…”
Exactly.
Detective Boy laughs.
Because that’s half the internet.
Somebody heard somebody who heard somebody who heard somebody.
No witness.
No investigation.
No source.
Just repetition.
One person says it.
A thousand people repost it.
Ten thousand people quote it.
Eventually it becomes wisdom simply because it’s familiar.
A modern chain letter.
Then comes the funniest part.
“Offer your absence.”
Really?
Because the people saying they’re absent keep making videos about being absent.
Keep posting about being absent.
Keep explaining why they’re absent.
Keep announcing their departure.
Detective Boy writes:
Subject claims absence while remaining visibly present.
Then he closes the notebook.
Because if your absence is being used to produce a reaction, is it really absence?
Or is it just another form of presence wearing a different costume?

This sucks cuz it don’t feel like my absence means anything just like I didn’t. It don’t replace the feelings of brokenness
