I was 1cm at 2PM, installed a carseat at 6PM and had a few big contractions, real contractions started at 11:30PM and I was holding a baby by2AM. All this to ask, have you tried installing a car seat?

I swear by eating garlic bread! my sister, myself and a couple other people that I know ate garlic bread and within the next 2-3 days we all went into labor.
