i am a huge god of war fan despite its unfavorable depictions of the gods i worship (odin, for example; he is absolutely nothing like gow portrays him to be) and in order to still enjoy the games i kinda have to tell myself that the characters are not meant to be the gods exactly, but rather, they are separate characters loosely based around mythology. i’ve learned to appreciate god of war odin as a super well written character when looking at it from this perspective instead. however, i do sometimes feel sad, for as much as i love these games, it reminds me how rare favorable portrayals of deities outside of christianity are :(

I personally hate how GOW portrays all of the gods. it feels like a disgusting mockery. I work heavily with Kratos and he is so so very different (nothing alike at all) to that depiction and it bothers me a lot
