The Prophet gently nudged him in the stomach with a small stick he was holding, bringing him back into position and saying, "Straighten your row, Sawad ibn Ghaziyya." Sawad replied, "You have hurt me, O Messenger of God. I want retribution." So the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, uncovered his noble stomach so that Sawad could take his retribution. Sawad then leaned in, embraced him, and kissed his noble stomach, seeking blessings, and did not take retribution—for he was never in pain in the first place. He had only wanted to touch the Prophet's skin. Sawad then explained his true intention to the people: "We are heading out for jihad, and I do not know if I will survive this battle.
