@thexdiamondedit: I sat down and did the math. My work-optional number is $810,000. That’s the number I’ve calculated would allow me to generate enough income from my investments that work becomes optional. Not because I never want to work again. But because I want options. I want to be able to take a 3 month sabbatical hit up Nice, Japan, and Portugal. Build a business where the main focus isn’t freaking survival. Work at a bookshop bc money isn’t my driving force. Walk away from opportunities that aren’t aligned. Angel invest. Freedom. That’s what I’m buying. So every time I invest, it’s not random it’s connected to a goal and now that I have a number, I can reverse engineer everything else. How much I need to invest every year until my 40th birthday. How much income I need to bring it monthly to make it happen. How aggressive I need to be. The goal isn’t “make hella money” with no fun it’s to grow my investment portfolio to $810,000. The goal is work-optional wealth. It’s on and popping!!!! 😭💰
