It is not about recording their performance and not enjoying the concert because of the “little screens”, it is actually about wanting to live that moment again, a moment that meant so much to you. I am extremely forgetful and rewatching my concert videos after a couple of years purely retriggers the same positive energy i had in that specific moment. I’ve been to Placebo in 2014, 2017 and 2024. I literally have no video of the 2017 or 2024 concerts (in 2014 they weren’t that restrictive) and it breaks my heart cause i am not able to remember those now properly. In this situation I believe it is more about the band’s ego than about their fans.

I get the rule and tbh I enjoyed their concert very much, it really was a complete different experience especially if you’re very close to the front like I was! However, it got uncomfortable everytime he felt the need to react in an angry way because of someone, I just wished he would tone down that part a little bit

i'm torn because although i completely respect his decision and agree concerts were wild without phones. i live somewhere where i have to travel to a different country if they even decide to come to latin america. i want at least a picture. i won't really get to see them more than once or twice if i'm lucky in my life due to those extreme expenses. i'm torn if the chance comes.
