My mom chose MAID a few yrs ago and when she set her date I asked her how she knew it was time. She told me that it’s a little like child birth. At the beginning you feel okay being pregnant and are scared for your due date but as you get closer being pregnant becomes less and less comfortable until you are at a point where it the fear takes up less space. That’s really helped me understand a small amount of her experience/decision.

I was diagnosed in 2020 at 55. Momma was diagnosed 8 months ago and going down hill quickly 😢 I think what is keeping me here is taking care of her. I really need to set her up with palliative care 😢
