I love that this song, because of the brilliance and great taste of Jacob Tierney has become a queer anthem. It was also a song about wanting connection in this world and the lengths one will go for that person, now it’s about how no one should have to hide who they truly are, that they deserve to be seen.

there is so much really good queer representation in glee and people overlook it because of santana and kurt. i also really loved unique a lot, some of the queer characters in the show felt so real and that's so important

recuerdo que la primera vez que ví la serie, tuve que pausar cuando Beiste salió del closet, me enojé mucho porque hasta ese momento Shanon había sido el primer personaje femenino con el que me identificaba, "poco atractiva", masculina, con inseguridades, muy sensible, deseosa de amor y de sentirse deseada, y sentí que estaban destruyendo todo eso, pero entonces, ya resignada a que habían arruinado a otro de mis personajes favoritos, dí play y oh Dios mío, ese diálogo me hizo llorar y ver qué está representación también era importante, que Sheldon era importante y que la transición no borraba todo con lo que ya me había identificado antes, sino que las hacía más profundas, tal vez no compartía esa otra parte, pero lo entendía a el con una empatía tan fuerte como su carácter. En fin, te amo, Sheldon Beiste. El hombre que eres.
