So everyone keeps asking what I actually do for a living… here it is!! 👆 Not glamorous, not flashy, and about as far from the “influencer lifestyle” as you can get. But you know what? I absolutely bloody love it. 😊 Maybe it’s the repetition, the satisfaction, or (definitely) the limited contact with human beings 😂 but I genuinely get up each morning and look forward to my day. And I certainly didn’t feel like that when I had my supposedly “successful” corporate career in investment banking. I travelled, I got paid the big bucks, but every day I tapped my security pass and wondered: “Is this the day everyone finds out I have no idea what I’m doing?” 😬 I wish I could have made that life work for me, but I’ve found so much more pride and satisfaction building my little cleaning business. And to everyone in the Invisible Army quietly getting on with it every day… I see you 🤍

Why should you or anyone else be ashamed of having a cleaning job? Cleaners are literally the unsung heroes of many work areas if not all of them! I don't clean for a job although I used to watch my mom do it when I was a kid and never once did I think urgh why are you doing that. People do what they can to put food on the table, pay bills, look after kids or like you, to find their own kind of peace and there is nothing wrong with that. Anyone judging needs to be ashamed of themselves!

Out of all the jobs I’ve had, my cleaning job while I was at sixth form was by far the best. It was the role where I felt most appreciated, and where my hard work was genuinely noticed and valued. The companies I cleaned for were always kind and respectful, which made the job even more rewarding. Unfortunately, I’m now physically disabled, so I’m no longer able to do that kind of work.

I work two cleaning jobs and I love it, my main one is I clean a school every afternoon 5 days a week and on Thursdays and Friday mornings I clean a warehouse and they're the best jobs I ever have
