Nope. If you change that plot point and Aerith survives, you destroy the weight of her sacrifice/her death in the OG. Aerith needs to be in the lifestream in order for her to save humanity. Holy cleanses ANY threat to the planet. The entire point of seeing her when Holy and Meteor clash was to show her influence in that moment. If she wasn’t in the lifestream to provide her influence, everyone would die anyway. You can’t have a happy ending without her death. Accept it. The point of all the “changes” they have made to the story is to fix all the plot holes within the story. There isn’t alternate realities or timelines. These alternate “worlds” that we see are lifestream worlds.

The remake series already doesn’t follow the same canon as those other things. The story is completely different.
