49 here. I played football from 6 yrs old to 18 yrs old. It was my passion and I salute my mother for getting me involved and allowing me to find my joy at such a young age. Except, the support wasn’t there. I remember, being forgotten about after practice 1 day. No one came to pick me up. No one. I was big boy crying in the parking lot til a stranger came (someone’s parent) and embraced me. Somehow they found out who I was and got me home. It was a moment in my life where I never thought I’d have to relive again. As a grown man, about 1 year ago I went back to that lil broken boy and gave him the biggest hug ever. Told him that he’s safe and it’s okay to feel the pain that he was feeling. Let it out. Don’t blame your mother. And THAT, was my first step to healing my inner child. It works and is definitely necessary as a man being a Man. I’m in tune with my Masculine and my Feminine spirit. IYKYK, if I feel like shedding a tear due to emotions while in front my woman, I let that shyt out. But at the same time, I’ll get dead on yo a$$ if you play with me, with a smile on my face. Heal that inner child fellas. We all been through it. Take time to heal before trying to love someone else. Love yourself first and the rest follows. Asé
