I think this is what gets called Navicular syndrome in the US. I've mostly seen it in quarter horses with really upright pasterns and narrow heels.

my 18yr old bogstandard cob mare who had never had shoes on who's also been on cart, her feet have been chipping and peeling this is mostly for her front feet do you know if she might need shoes at her next farrier visit? xx
