In kindergarten a boy in my class invited everyone to his party. We went out and bought him a present, and we arrived on time for the party. Nobody else had showed up, it was just me and my sister. I remember him being so excited when we arrived, and honestly we had a blast. We made homemade piñatas with balloons and paper mache, and we even played with his bat cave toy set! I never saw him again after that school year, but I hope he’s doing good.

I used to host parties at the arcade. There was 1 kid whose party was supposed to have over 25+ kids, and none of them showed. I gave him probably 200 tokens and we played games together and I made sure that he ended up with a stupid amount of tickets, I wanted him to remember some sort of fun

45 minutes into my 18th birthday I got a text from my friends moms phone saying “Sorry girl! Can’t find my phone, texting from my mom’s phone!”, no one else out of the 7 guests showed up. Most of them texted similar messages about things coming up. I texted them all “Party’s cancelled. Don’t show up. Don’t give me the gifts. You all left me on one of my most important days and I’m ashamed that I called any of you my friends. Don’t contact me. Don’t talk to me at school, we’re done.” Still haven’t talked to any of them.

My mom would bring me to so many birthday parties growing up. For kids I didn’t even know. I hated it then and didn’t understand. I understand now at 25. My kids will go too. Showing up matters

My dad made me go to a party I didn’t want to go to because I wanted to play skylanders lmao. When I got there I was the only kid to show up, but I have 8 sisters and 4 of them came with me and my parents. Literally made my friends entire night and he still talks about how it was only us. Showing up MATTERS people.
