Create a makeshift nest: If the original nest is destroyed, you can fashion a makeshift one using a small basket, strawberry carton, or Tupperware (ensure it has drainage holes). Line it with dry grass, tissues, or a soft cloth, and wire it securely in a tree near where the chick was found.

Try to place it back in its nest nearby. Birds don't have a strong sense of smell, so parents will not reject it. If the nest is destroyed or unreachable, contact a licensed local wildlife rehabilitator.
