like I feel like it's in the name dissociative, so switching ain't gonna be something smooth it's gonna have a lot of dissociation, I don't have DID but I do have just plain dissociation and it's not pretty so I can only imagine what a switch is like

hey i know you’ve been documenting this journey of misdiagnosis and new diagnosis and i just hope you’re also taking some time to take care of yourself. handling all of that cannot be easy and you should be treating yourself with kindness, especially in a spot where people can be very… inconsiderate. sending you my love 🫶

we relate so heavily. we very rarely have switches that are clean or neat, they always in some way feel violent from seizures to complete shut downs with no response to any stimuli to the migraines

on the other side of the spectrum, due to how often we had to switch to survive our torture, we can and do switch very easily dozens of times per day. the only reason we function is that we have very good communication.

first I hear that "holding in" emergent parts can cause chronic pain (heard from Dr Mike Lloyd in interview I think) and now I hear switching can trigger PNES oughhh... oh no put my weird medical history AWAY
