@airportpatricia: There's one chime on a plane that tells the whole crew to drop what they're doing and sit down immediately, and you've heard it plenty of times without ever knowing what it meant. My pilot friend finally translated the ceiling language for me, and now I can't stop listening for it. One soft single ding is usually just a call button or the seatbelt sign switching over, the high-low two-tone chime is one crew member phoning another on the interphone, and three in a row is the cockpit telling everybody in the back to wrap it up and buckle in because something bumpy is on the way. Twenty years working in an airport and I never knew the ceiling had been talking the entire time, so on your next flight, listen for that triple chime and watch how fast the crew moves. Follow me, because I'm learning all the good stuff now and I'm not keeping a bit of it to myself. #viral #travel #airline #flights #airport
