I think in a deeper level artist always know this but sometimes people forget even as an artist you as a person are on a personal journey yourself. Until you feel ready to share that side of yourself to the world artist will center art as a content first. It wasn’t until my daughter’s autism diagnosis and a lot of time to reflect on my childhood that I finally felt real and honest when talking about my art. Creating art first as a content never hurts and when the creator and artist is ready they should dive into the artist second.

honestly this is a really good point 🖤Im about to start making more videos showing my face. Its terrifying 😅 but I totally get people being more willing to follow if they see whos behind the art.

Yes I definitely am more likely to buy art of others I like for sure! And even when just buying ACEOs I love it when I know there account on here even so i feel that definitely is a thing! I think it’s tricky to get the balance of how much process to show, like you said about story b content, I think that’s what I find the trickiest is trying to film that side 🙈 it always feels so inconvenient I need to find a way where it just works into my day without feeling so inconvenient and time consuming 🙈

for me I follow the art not the artist, maybe that's wrong on my part but I don't have to look at the person who made it ,as long as I like the art that's all that matters to me

yeah, but what do you do when you dont wanna Show your face on camera? f.e. im not a conventional attractive 20-something, and people online can be so vile. its something that really worries me. same as idk filming myself holding my painting and stuff. feels so performative😬

I’m an adult content creator and I recently started painting, having a foot in each industry and have noticed that both industries are really similar for exactly what you’re saying!! Audiences have an opportunity now to be able to really connect with the artist as well as the art itself now and it’s a wonderful tool
