Unfortunately, what some people are failing to understand is that the associate was not supposed to approach the customer and ask for service animal paperwork in the first place. Employees do not have the legal right to demand documentation or certification for a service animal.

There needs to be better regulations regarding service dogs because you never know who actually has a service dog and who is just bringing their house pet in with a vest ordered off Amazon.

ESA (emotional support animal) is not a service animal and is not legally recognized through the ADA. Service animals have strict legal rights and protections ESA do not so customer is a 100% wrong and employee should of handled this a little better and called police
