@chimeracostumes: Making My Victorian Sewing Room I started keeping the leaf blower next to the saw and using it between every cut and this is my favorite building hack of 2026 Why am I cutting all this wood? Because it's finally time to do the framing for my sewing room! How it's gone so far: 1. demo (remove old carpet, plaster, lathe, gas lines, knob and tube wiring, light fixtures, etc) 2. remove the trim around windows and doors (carefully! so it can be stripped, sanded, restained, and reinstalled) 3. remove the original 1895 baseboards (also carefully) 4. cut and install 2x3 firring strips on all the studs (to make the walls deeper so there is space for modern insulation) 5. install boards as needed so that the drywallers have somewhere to attach the drywall There is a lot left to do before I can get back to sewing costumes 😭 #fyp #sewingroom #oldhouse #carpentry #chimeracostumes
