@abbyrodmanpsychotherapy: Be vigilant about behaviors or actions in your partner or spouse that seem inappropriate or uncharacteristic. Ignoring behavioral red flags is a huge mistake so many of us make as we offer excuses to ourselves and others—even when our guts are screaming that something is wildly amiss.
My ex showed me this in the first couple weeks and I stay for 13 years! I will NEVER make that mistake again ❤️

This is 100% true. I remember the first instance of this. we had been together a year at that point. In this situation, it wasn’t what he said, but how he said it, with such venom, that took my breath away. A minute later, he was himself again. And I thought what the hell was that? But right away I excused it, saying he’s stressed, tired, whatever. But that was the start of him changing, or rather, the start of him showing me who he really was.

The first time he told me that I looked down on people and no one liked me. I’ll never forget it because I was in shock and started going through my mind about myself 🤪🙄how did I not know🤦🏼♀️

please keep educating the new generation so they don't have to suffer like many of us have. Broken pencils were one of those signs... as I hear you speak, that's what came up for me. 33 years later, I'm just getting out of it.

The introductory behavior included embarrassing me in public, ruining special events, withholding communication and physical contact. The ending behavior was verbal attacks. When the behaviors were addressed the response was “I didn’t say that. You are always remembering things wrong.” If it hurts you it will become a constant theme in your life with them.
