I know some fiber splicers and they make around 6k a month, no more. Im in pipe lining and make around the same. A friend tried to lure me into oilfield, working as a drill rig operator, but I didnt took it cause all the time away from fam.

I work in data centers, you will make $30/hr with a couple yrs experience. So it’s definitely a decent blue collar job. I imagine it goes UP from there + OT and per diem if they need you to travel. But if it was $40k/mo everyone will do it. He prob meant $4k lol
