Perhaps we love fairytales because they promise that every lonely heart will someday be chosen. But real life has taught me something gentler. Not every ending is “happily ever after.” Some are simply, “thank you for the pages we shared.” And perhaps that is enough. Because love is not proven by staying forever. Sometimes it is proven by leaving without taking away the person you were before you met.
