@khamsungdren: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB): Know the Symptoms and Help End TB by 2030. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by bacteria that mainly affects the lungs, known as Pulmonary Tuberculosis. TB spreads through the air when a person with active TB coughs, sneezes, talks, or spits. Anyone can get TB, but it is curable and preventable when diagnosed and treated early. Common symptoms of Pulmonary TB include a cough lasting more than two weeks, coughing up sputum or blood, chest pain, fever, night sweats, unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite, tiredness, and weakness. If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms, visit the nearest health facility for screening and testing. Early detection and treatment can prevent complications and stop the spread of the disease to others. Bhutan is committed to ending TB by 2030 in line with the global End TB Strategy. This mission aims to reduce TB cases and deaths through early diagnosis, effective treatment, public awareness, contact tracing, and community participation. Every citizen has a role to play by seeking medical attention when symptoms appear, completing the full course of TB treatment, supporting affected individuals, and helping to reduce stigma associated with the disease. Together, through awareness, early action, and community support, Bhutan can achieve its goal of ending TB by 2030 and create a healthier future for all.
