My bank stuffed up my settlement day. Kudos to the previous owners who let me move in anyway as I had horse & moving trucks booked. I did agree to give them a 3 month settlement period though due to their circumstances. We both appreciated the difficulties of moving with horses & gave each other grace.

When we sold a property recently, we signed our discharge paperwork the next business day. We have a few properties tied onto the one loan. It was a 4 week settlement so we did that straight up. 3 days before we settled our bank said that we need to have our existing property valued. We live remote and can take up to 2 weeks to get a valuer to our town. I kindly but firmly told them that they have had the paperwork for over 3 weeks, this should have been requested earlier. I talked them around to proceeding without it but that would have held the settlement up by 2 weeks at least.
