For context a 1982 salary of £30k per year would be £138k per year in 2026. That £5 ticket would cost £23. That’s a 360% increase. A £5 jump up to $1000 is roughly a 15,700% increase. The disparity between wage increases and cost inflation is absolutely shocking. The term ‘unfair’ doesn’t come remotely close to describing it.
