I really vibe with what you're saying because I don't believe we as humans were supposed to be in constant contact. I mean, phones are miracles in things like emergencies, but i think it destroyed something beautiful - that hearing from someone was special and unique, because it wasn't as easy. That's why I prefer few well-thought messages a week and going through will plans, than consistent all day texting that starts to feel like a chore after a while.

On the subject of "time," I think it's important to understand that the pace of one person's life is not the same as everyone else. Busy people have more responsibilities and therefore need more "time" to cultivate relationships.

As someone who considers themselves spiritual (ie. energetics, non-duality) I understand how passionate you get about it because I truly understand what you’re trying to say but the nature of it is truly impossible to convey perfectly with human language 💀

So would you say 3 weeks without a date in a situation where we just had Memorial Day weekend, and then he was away and then I was away, but he’s been consistent in communicating a little bit each day isn’t as big of a deal? I know we are both super busy right now and I don’t believe he’s interested in long term although the conversation hasn’t happened. There isn’t a plan to see each other on the books although I tried once last week and we have future vague plans.

As a 60yr old recovering Ice Queen, thank you. You are helping me heal and change decades and decades of self defeating behaviours. I’m devouring your content and I can’t begin to tell you how much it’s helping. Thank you ♥️

Yes time is truly not important. The guy im interested in would have been labelled as fading to ghosting if people only paid attention to the factor of time and gaps. I kept track of quality of communication and how he shows up each time (emotionally regulated). There was a 40day gap in our communication after 2 months of "fading" and Im not gonna lie, it had me worried. But I noticed I wasn't anxious about our bond, I was worried about what's going on on his side. When he got back I learned what went down in his life and suddenly the "fading" made sense. There was repair and we are slowly going back to what we had. My situation is not Sydney's territory as it's LD and im not actively looking to be in a relationship but open for it. Despite of that, I still learn so much from you, Sydney, so thank you and keep up the good work ☺️

I hope you see this message. I am very new to the dating world. I came across your page and its so refreshing to see and listen to your content. It keeps me sane and stops me from spiralling down. I have been on 3 dates with one guy , and he unfortunately is dealing with family emergency so contact has dried up understandably. After the 3rd meeting, he didn’t get in touch . I started reading too much into his noresponse, imagined worse scenarios and my brain straight away went for all the negative scenarios . I came across your videos and decided I need to show him that I am interested. so I eventually texted him that I like to spend time with him, and if he is up for it, would love to see him again, and if he is not interested thats cool too, just let me know. He responded that he is dealing with a sudden news about his dad’s illness. I said just look after yourself. I did send a check in text, and he replied with a heart emoji. I still get anxious but stop myself as I know I did what I could and the ball is in his court, if he wants he knows where I am and if he doesn’t that is still ok.

It is just so nice to hear this perspective because my friends always suggested there was someone else or he wasn’t into me when it really was a major crisis going on. I am religious and prayerful and the Holy Spirit convicted me this week to trust God and to trust what the man I love assured me of, he’s not going anywhere. Sure it would nice if there was a happy path but I have to get out of my head and not become anxious if he doesn’t return a text.

I hesitate to even recommend this book because it feels like a secret weapon I want to keep to myself. But Train Him Well by Lea Joy West completely cured my anxious attachment. I finally understand how to maintain my own power.
