yea but the lawyer takes 35%($292,250) and taxes will be another $150k-$200k so in reality he will only get around $300k which is still big money but not what it seems.

Law enforcement is the personification of "Judicial system" constitutional rights and all. The sheriff can not disassociate himself from the consequences of his actions anymore than we can blame the gun when we pull the trigger.

Sheriffs departments are the worst anybody can run for sheriff. Strap a gun uniform and a badge on someone and suddenly you’re some great professional. It’s time our police and sheriffs to be true professionals a law degree must be required to be a sheriff or a police officer is the only way
