The elders say: ‘A person who drinks from a well must first ask how deep the well is.’ Before taking water from the Kavango River, the right questions must be answered: How much water does the river truly carry? What will happen during drought years? How will future generations survive? The Kavango proverb says: ‘The river does not belong to one person; it belongs to everyone who depends on it.’ 🌿 That is why the voices of communities, traditional leaders and local people who wake up next to this river every day deserve to be heard. Comrade Mbangu’s message is not only about stopping a project — it is about asking for responsibility, science, fairness and long-term thinking. Development must not mean moving resources away while the people living beside those resources continue struggling. A wise farmer does not eat all the seeds today, because tomorrow’s harvest depends on what he protects. 🌱 The Kavango River is today’s blessing and tomorrow’s inheritance. I think you're wrong. You can't simply say a city can be built in Kavango because it's near water. Before making such a conclusion factors like soil conditions, foundation strength and load bearing capacity must be assessed by engineers
