Like that is what Vincent saw. He was mentally… not good? The man chopped his ear off. He wasn’t stable. He was obviously schizophrenic or something. But he was fucking brilliant at painting, and it was his way of capturing what he saw everyday and expressing it. To disregard that and say that one of history’s greatest artists wanted us to see something completely different is not only disrespectful, but just plain rude.

Saying this about painters like Van Gogh is very funny because him not painting realistically is literally the point. Like at a time in history when 9/10 paintings were photorealistic landscapes painting something like this was definitely a choice.
