Yeah, I can’t do that. I literally live an hour away from all jobs that are hiring in my area. And if you include traffic that takes me roughly an hour and a half to two hours one way just to get to work and that again to get home from work every day. And I already did the math if I’m working full-time 40 hours a week or more five days a week that means that I’ll be spending roughly $800 per month in gas just to get back back-and-forth to work. And then you add in the taxes which comes out to about $400 a month so total I’m already losing $1200 a month out of my paycheck just to be able to say that I have a job. so if I’m only making $16 an hour because I took whatever job was available until something better came along that means that I’m literally only pocketing about $1300 a month after I pay the $1200 a month on gas and taxes. That’s not even worth my fucking time. That won’t pay my bills. My bills each month comes up to $4,000 per month. So if I’m not making at least $22 or more per hour, then it’s not even worth my time even temporarily to take the job and waste my time and my money and gas and wear and tear on my car. And the problem is the jobs that pay that pay rate or better are over an hour away from my house so I’m gonna be losing sleep having to get up at least two hours or more early in the mornings just so that I can be to work on time and then I’m losing at least another two hours every day driving home from work.

True. Employers want your resume to tell a "coherent story." My wife has this exact problem with her resume because most of her past was side quests. Her resume shows a history working in security, a history as a director of a call center, a dispatcher, a certified nursing assistant, retail, etc. It's now very hard for her to find work.
