Torque changes when compounding gears not power, power is the same throughout because as torque decreases the revolutions per minute increases and keeps power (torque x RPM) the same. Think of a car, horsepower doesn’t change depending on what gear your in but you will feel a lot more torque in first gear because of the gear ratios. Hope this helps👍

Not to be that guy but the speed vs power analogy is mechanical advantage not a gear ratio alone. A gear ratio is simply an example of mechanical advantage there’s also pulleys, levers, etc.
